Elsada doesn't order from online catalogues. Instead, she books a plane ticket and personally searches for CREATIFT's treasures. Sometimes in 45-degree heat, moving from store to store, street to street, uncovering unique pieces that tell a story. And she loves every moment of it.

Every collection begins with a journey. From bustling markets and hidden workshops to unexpected discoveries in faraway places, Elsada travels the world in search of exceptional furniture, textiles, décor, and inspiration.

One of Elsada's favourite adventures is searching for old sarees to transform into beautiful garments. Woven from the finest raw silk, these treasures are filled with colour, character, and history. India has a deep love for colour, and so does she.

The search leads her to beautiful places, unexpected places, and sometimes the most unlikely corners, all in pursuit of the most exquisite fabrics and timeless textiles. And every now and then, the journey brings an unexpected delight, like meeting the friendliest tuk-tuk driver along the way. Just look at this one, still soaked from the rain, yet full of charm and colour.

Through CREATIFT, Elsada has been given the extraordinary privilege of travelling the world. Along the way, she has experienced vibrant colours, unforgettable aromas, diverse cultures and beliefs, and the warmth of remarkable people from every corner of the globe.

Choosing furniture for CREATIFT is never as simple as pointing and buying. Every piece has to earn its place. Is it beautiful enough? Is it special enough? Will it make the journey all the way to Namibia? With so many choices and only limited space in a shipping container, every decision matters.

What many people don't see is the lively team behind every purchase. There is the seller, the bookkeeper, the photographer, the helpers moving furniture and opening cabinets for a closer look, the water bearer keeping everyone refreshed, the person carefully measuring every item to make sure it will fit into the container, and of course, someone always arriving with a cup of chai.

One of the most memorable lessons Elsada learned in India was about pride and respect. People take great pride in their work, and bargaining is often seen differently than it is elsewhere. If a price does not feel right, you simply thank the seller and continue your search. Trust, dignity, and mutual respect are valued above haggling.

It was a lesson in culture, character, and perspective, and one that has stayed with her long after the journey ended.
